Honey has 'madhura' rasa (sweet taste) and 'kashaya' anurasa (bitter aftertaste). Coupled with 'cold' potency, it effectively balances kapha and pitta in the system.
Good source of anti-oxidants. Research shows that the antioxidants in honey called polyphenols may play a role in preventing heart disease.
